ADMISSIONS FOR ALL INNER GRADES FOR 2026 ARE CLOSED.

The admission period for 2026 is currently closed. For urgent relocation applications, please send a detailed email to admissions@ireneprimary.co.za. Irene Primary is a fee-paying school, and the fee structure for 2026 can be found on D6 under the finance resource and on our website.

The fees for 2027 will be decided by the School Governing Body at the AGM in November 2026.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS FOR GRADE  1 FOR 2027

The admissions period for 2027 will be posted on D6 once we have the management plan from the Department of Education. All applications for Grade 1 learners are processed through the Gauteng Department of Education’s Online Admissions Application System only. ADMISSIONS PROCESS FOR GR R AND GRADES 2 – 7 FOR 2027

  • The admissions period for Gr R will open on 21 July 2026.
  • Admissions for Grades 2 – 7 will open on 1 September 2026 and close on 23 October 2026. Placement offers will be sent in November when space becomes available

APPLICATION PROCESS

Please use the attached link http://bit.ly/3WyhSDS to complete the application process. Should you be unable to submit your application, please go back and check for errors. Please upload all the documents via the link. Should you require assistance, please contact the admissions office to make an appointment at admissions@ireneprimary.co.za.

 Please note that the school is currently at capacity; submitting applications does not guarantee placement. Please submit applications to the nearby schools as well.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

  • Certified copy of both parents’ ID copies.
  • Certified copy of birth certificate.
  • Immunization page of clinic card with the child’s name on it.
  • The child’s latest progress report from the current school/ nursery school.
  • Proof of employment for both parents.

Proof of residence required:

  • Municipal account in the parent’s name – matching name and ID.
  • Formal lease agreement through an agency.
  • Levy/utility bill from a management company for a complex.
  • An informal lease agreement must be accompanied by the municipal account and certified ID of the owner, as well as 3 months proof of payment of rent.

PLACEMENT

  • Placement offers for Grade R will be sent to parents during September. Parents have 7 days to accept or decline the offer. Offers not accepted within 7 days will be cancelled and given to the next applicant on the list.
  • Unsuccessful applicants for Grade R will be notified by 30 October 2026.
  • Applicants for inner Grades 2 – 7 will only be placed once we are notified of current learners who may be leaving.
